Indian Speciality Coffee

Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold

Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold (MNEB) Coffee Beans is the highest grade of Indian wet-processed Arabica coffee based on the very large bean size and the virtual absence of visual defects. Mysore is a traditional market name for coffee from south-central India. These coffees are called Extra Bold Nuggets for a simple reason - more intense flavour, lower acid, smoother and richer finish. These washed Arabica beans follow all the prescriptions for Plantation-A coffees, but with tighter grading and sorting requirements. The beans are extra-bold, 90 percent larger than 7.5 millimeters (19 screen) in size, and 100 percent larger than 6.65 millimeters (17 screen). The grade doesn’t permit any peaberries, bits, blacks, or extraneous matter. Enjoyable as a black coffee - especially straight espresso (shorties). In milk, you will find that Indian coffees develop the smoothest, silkiest and richest espresso you will ever taste. This is the best of the best from India and we are pleased to be able to offer such a wonderful coffee to our customers.

Monsooned Malabar Coffee

Monsooned Malabar is one of the most unique coffee due to the processing of beans which rely on the region's monsoons to transform the bean. The origination of Indian Monsoon Malabar Coffee dates back to the British Rule when wooden ships loaded with raw coffee beans would take upto 6 months of travel from India to Europe. Humidity and ocean winds would cause the beans to change from green colour to a more aged, pale yellow colour. Upon their arrival, these coffee beans were found to have a unique mellowness, soft and smooth tasting, making it an instant hit in coffee houses across Europe. Monsoon Malabar Coffee is prepared from Arabica and Robusta Cherry beans. After grading, the coffee is transported to the coastal cities where the “monsooning” is carried out in large open walled warehouses during the months of June to September. Well-developed heavy body, muted acidity and complex flavors. Because of its unique process Monsooned Malabar eliminates the high bright notes in coffee leaving a full bodied low note coffee, ideal for balancing the brighter coffees in your espresso blend.

Robusta Kaapi Royale

Robusta Kaapi Royale (RKR) is one of Indias best speciality coffee from the hills of Southern India. The beans are bold and round with pointed ends, and grey to bluish grey in colour. Kaapi Royale is made from Robusta Parchment AB beans resulting in full bodied coffee. The beans are clean and uniformed, mostly consisting screen size 17 beans obtained by regrading and resorting the washed beans. To be called Kaapi Royale the beans must stand on a sieve with round holes 6.70 mm in diameter (17 screen) and 100% must stand on 6.65 mm sieve.
